Tree Removal & Stump Grinding
Safe removal of hazardous, dead, or unwanted trees. We protect your property from start to finish.Safe & Efficient Tree Removal
Removing a tree—especially one close to a house or power line—is not a DIY project. With 30 years of history in the business, Sigourney Treecare has the experience to dismantle trees safely, piece by piece.
When to Remove a Tree:
- Dead or Dying: Brittle branches pose a risk to your family and roof.
- Storm Damage: Trees destabilized by high winds or ice.
- Construction Conflicts: Clearing space for new additions or driveways.
- Crowding: Removing trees to allow others to thrive.

Complete Stump Grinding
A tree removal isn't finished until the stump is gone. Leftover stumps are unsightly, attract pests like termites, and make mowing difficult.
Our stump grinding service removes the stump below ground level. This allows you to fill the spot with topsoil and seed over it, leaving your lawn smooth and ready for mowing or replanting.
We Respect Your Property
The job isn't done until the yard is clean. We pride ourselves on leaving your property better than we found it. We haul away the wood, chip the brush, and rake the area clean.

Common Questions About Tree Removal
How much does it cost to remove a tree?
The cost varies based on the height of the tree, the diameter of the trunk, and how accessible it is. For example, a tree close to a house requires more time and rigging than a tree in an open field. We recommend using our online quote form to upload a photo for a fast, accurate estimate.
Is stump grinding included in the price?
Tree removal and stump grinding are typically separate line items on a quote. This is because some customers prefer to leave the stump or handle it themselves. However, we can easily bundle both services together for you. Just let us know if you want the stump gone when you request your quote.
Do I need to be home when you do the work?
In most cases, you do not need to be home as long as we have clear access to the yard (unlocked gates, no pets outside). We can communicate via phone or text while we are on the property.
What happens to the wood and debris?
We handle the complete cleanup. We chip the brush and small branches and haul away the larger logs. If you would like to keep the wood for firewood, please let us know beforehand, and we can stack it for you.
Are you insured?
Yes. Sigourney Treecare is a professional operation. Tree removal can be dangerous, and we carry the necessary insurance to protect your property and our team during the project.
Do you handle emergency storm damage?
Yes. If a tree has fallen on your home, driveway, or power lines, contact us immediately. We prioritize emergency work to restore safety to your property as quickly as possible.
Can you remove trees near power lines?
For the service drop (the line from the pole to your house), we can usually work carefully around it. However, for main high-voltage lines, we may need to coordinate with the utility company to ensure safety. We can assess this during the quote process.
